The Department of Communication, University of Utah, invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Mass
Communication effective July 1, 2003. Applicants should have a primary
emphasis in broadcast journalism. A secondary emphasis in an area such
as visual communication or media studies is desirable. Applicants are
expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in broadcast
journalism and to contribute to one or more of the mass communication
areas of visual media production, new media technologies, or electronic
journalism. Ability to direct theses and dissertations essential.

Qualifications: Ph.D. required. Established research record or evidence
of potential for significant scholarlship. Excellent teaching required.
Previous relevant professional experience highly desirable.

Rank and Salary: Tenure track position, Assistant Professor, salary
