I saw the suggestions to write/talk with Chuck Wolfe or Ed Branigan who
know Doug Gomery.  Why not write him directly?  His e-mail address is
[log in to unmask]  He was very helpful to one of my students who
wrote about a question regarding exhibition practices.  (And of course he
