I post this once again in the desperate hope that some seasoned
Internet Voyager may be able to help. Does anyone know of a newsgroup for
actors? It is inconcievable that the most verbose people on the planet
don't have their own group, though it's starting to look that way. I have
scoured LISTSERV. I subscribed to ACTOR-L, and after two weeks of abject
silence, I posted to the list wondering why there was no mail. I was then
brusquely informed that ACTOR-L was NOT for actors, but belonged to some
obscure computer programmer language group, members of which have
absolutely nothing to say to each other, but who take great umbrage if
someone breaks their blessed silence.
I have considered trying to start one, but having been subscribed to
Screen-L for some time I have misgivings. I have a beautiful head of hair
and am loath to think that the pressures of starting a newsgroup may
result in my own exfoliation as it seems to have done to others.
Curoiusly, after with my posting to ACTOR-L, my mailbox was flooded
with messages from other actors subscribed to the same list wondering why
THEY had recieved no letters. Some had even forgotten that they had
subscribed! Does ANYBODY know ANYTHING?
