I happened to see the Deer Hunter last night in which Merryl Streep is a
bridesmaid who catches the flowers flung by the bride and is immediately
proposed to by Christopher Walken.  This has enormous significance in terms
of later developments when Walken does not return from Vietnam but De Niro
does.....
