Can anyone recommend any books that give advice/instructions on how to
correctly write a screenplay? I could pick one out myself but I thought
someone on the list would know the best. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!

After that, you really need to watch for being confused with writing a
shooting script versus a finished draft that is on the market to be sold.
Very few screenplay books will teach you the difference. Reading published
screenplays will only make you more confused because they are 1) usually the
shooting script and/or 2) someone's unique style that has been developed over
a period of time and is respected because of the writer's credibility.
Doesn't this make screenwriting more confusing?

If your community college or local university offers a screenwriting for
feature films class, take it.

Other books (among the many) that can offer help for story development are:

The Art of Dramatic Writing -- by Lajos Egri
Screenwriting 434 -- by Lew Hunter
Making a Good Script Great -- by Linda Seger
Screenplay, The Foundations of Screenwriting -- by Syd Field (don't take him
too literally though, because it will make you crazy)
