A film that may be hard to get a hold of but that I saw just recently is Courage
    of the People, by Jorge Sanjines.
It is a bolivian film about Andean tin mining and a massacre that occured in
1967.  It was made in 1971, he used recreation to document and talk about what h
   appened up to the massacre.  The majority of the film is acted out, but it is
    acted out by the actual people who were involved.
It would probably be considered post modern if it was made today, but he made th
   e film in its own context of Bolivia, etc. And not within the realm of other
   Films, documentarries, etc.
