Re: The Bernard Shaw appearance in THE LOST WORLD. This is by no means
something new for the film world. Off the top of my head comes the
appearance of Howard K. Smith, as newscommentator on the candidacy of the
politician at the center of NASHVILLE, back in 1976. I believe there are
a variety of other national figures who have made similar appearances.
And certainly, anyone who lives in Los Angeles is aware that the L.A.
local newscasters are routinely cast as themselves giving news updates in
hundreds of Hollywood films, over the last several decades, and not only
those that are set in Los Angeles.
