WAsn't there a film in the 40s about an Englishwoman held captive
by a Chinese warlord that created a stir because it suggested a
physical attraction between the the characters?

Forgive me for not looking this up... but all of my books are still
packed from moving last year (there's no room in my dungeon!)

Also... the subject of interacial heritage can be viewed from the
prospective of Merle Oberon who went to *great* lengths to hide the
fact that her mother was South Asian Indian. For years her official
bio read that she was born and reared in Tasmania.
