As many of you may have noticed, in the last two weeks, our site experienced some technical issues and data loss. These problems occurred in the process of a shift in web hosting services for MediaCommons. We are now back online and hope that everything has been resolved. However, if you notice any missing data or images while visiting our site, we hope that you will let us know via email ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).

Now that we are back up and running, we invite you to check out this week's theme on Issa Rae and The Web Series, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl<http://mediacommons.futureofthebook.org/imr/theme-week/2013/18/issa-rae-and-misadventures-awkward-black-girl-april-29-may-3-2013>, coordinated by Kristen Warner (University of Alabama) and IMR liason Karen Petruska (Northeastern University). Also, please note that since last week's theme, Environmental Media, was interrupted due to technical problems, we will feature it once again in June. Hopefully you will have a chance to read and comment upon the posts at that time, if you were unable to do so before.

In addition, we have extended the deadlines of two of our current calls, "Brush Up On Your Shakespeare<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uTmIwrVwqw3tJdOUHyU-h7VpdrZmZK_EDuEUw7u7RDc/edit>" and "E-sports<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bZOhpaWt6Mx0ANzuxnIaw-OdeqXqXiwdTduqjQeRk-w/edit>", to May 6th. We welcome proposals for these weeks as well as for our other two current calls, "Tom Cruise<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q_IHFg0bEVCIwbjZ8sM9RIcJHWiHWGb85sTyPOzFyEU/edit>" (proposal deadline 6/30) and "I Can Haz Webcam<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nsyBrly5osZucprWifUUPcT5WzsMkZPDi_LOe_dDLXQ/edit>" (proposal deadline 7/7).

As always, we appreciate your support and hope that you will continue to visit our site and comment on posts.
Best,
The In Media Res Team
