Aca-Media <http://www.aca-media.org/> Podcast, Episode 41
<http://www.aca-media.org/episode41>, "Held Together By an Ampersand"

There's a new editor at *Cinema Journ*-- um, we mean, *The Journal of
Cinema and Media Studies*. Chris talks with Caetlin Benson-Allott about her
plans for the next five years and what SCMS members can expect from the
journal formally known as *CJ*. Then Alisa Perren and Charlotte E. Howell
converse about their relationship as advisor and advisee, providing
insights into what makes for a great mentoring experience in grad school
and beyond.

Finally, Aca-Media

invites
contributions from media studies teachers about challenges they're facing
and dealing with in the classroom during the Trump era. What have you tried
in the classroom? What problems or issues have you run into? What wisdom
can you share? You know how cathartic it feels to hear from others who are
facing similar circumstances? That's what we're hoping to foster with this
segment. But it can only happen if you share your thoughts with us. So
please contribute anything you have to say! (And you're welcome to remain
anonymous if you'd like.) From specific advice to general attitudes, we
invite whatever input you'd like to offer. Check out the call here
<http://bit.ly/2EeLy3i> and send your stories to us here
<https://www.dbinbox.com/aca-media> by March 1.
