Though I greatly respect for Borgnine in The Wild Bunch, I would have to
state that Borgnine's most dynamic and depthful performance was in the 1955
film Marty. He won the oscar for his portrayal of a lonely, middle-aged
butcher living with his mother in the Bronz. It took Best Picture at the
Oscars (winning a total of 4) and was also the first American film to win the
Palmes d'Or at Cannes.
