Brian Taves comment made me think of a number of other films on revolution:
 
_Start the Revolution Without Me_ (comedy set in the French Revolution)
_The Corsical Brothers_ (Cheech and Chong comedy also set during French Rev)
the various versions of _The Prisoner of Zenda_ (an historical adventure)
