Call for entries

Hey filmmakers. It=92s time to put down your clapper board, pick up your
boogie board and join us for a weekend of fun, sun and movies. Next spring
our surfer haven will become the focus of the film universe as Hollywood
Goes to the Beach.

The first Hermosa Beach Film Festival will take place from April 24 through
April 27, 1997. And you can be part of this landmark salute to the movies.
We are seeking entries in four competitive categories:

      1 - Main Event...Full-length features on any subject.=20

      2 - Next Wave...Movies by first-time filmmakers.=20

3 - The Sandlot...Just for the kids (and their parents).=20
=20
      4 - Beach Shorts...Can=92t be more than 30 minutes.=20

=B7 All we ask is that none of the entries have had a theatrical release
before being shown at the Festival

How to enter:

Complete the entry form and send two copies of your film on VHS video along
with the entry fee plus synopsis, bios and stills, if available, to the
Programming Committee at the address below. Deadline is February 1. Winning
submissions informed by April 1.

All films must be in 35mm or 16mm format for screening at the Festival and
must be in English or subtitled in that language. We would love it if at
least one of the film-makers could attend the Festival screening of their
entries and talk about their work.

If you do not have a film ready for this year=92s Hermosa Beach Film=
 Festival
we would still like to talk you into joining us in our little corner of
paradise. As well as movies there will be seminars and discussion groups
plus great restaurants and lively company. You might even find time to work
on your tan. Numbers below will have details early 1997.
