Please pass along the following announcement to the appropriate person or

THE GOALS OF THE FIRST AJIJIC FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE

The goals of the Ajijic Festival Internacional de Cine, which will premier
November 4-7, 1999, are to provide a forum for the celebration, discovery
and recognition of the world's filmmakers whether they be students or
consummate professionals.

Independent producers, writers and directors as well as established
production companies and government film entities are encouraged to
participate in any of the following categories:

Feature Films, Short Subjects, Animation, Documentaries, Screenplays or
Children's Films. To date we have entries for Austria, Australia, Czech
Republic, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Spain, U.S.A., and the U.K.

Entry forms are available in English, Spanish, French and German at the
festival's Mexico Connect Web Site:

x/cineindex.html

Films must first be presented in the NTSC video format. If the original
language is other than English or Spanish, the submission must have English
subtitles. Screenplays must be submitted in English. Entries can only be
accepted until September 1,1999.

A jury representing a broad creative spectrum from the Guadalajara/Ajijic
area will view all entries and the results of their deliberations will be
made public on November 7th at a gala awards celebration.

Ajijic, (Ah-he-heek), just 40 minutes from Guadalajara's Miguel Hidalgo
International Airport, is a 478 years old fishing village on the north
shore of Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest lake. This village of narrow
cobblestone streets has been a haven and refuge for artists and writers
from North and South American and Europeans since the 1920's. It is also
renowned for its near-perfect climate and the area is known worldwide as
"Land of the Eternal Spring."

Whether you are a participant or a cinema enthusiast, we encourage you to
attend the festival and enjoy the screenings as well as other ancillary
events.
