CALL FOR PAPERS ON AUTHORSHIP AND AUTEURISM

The “Authorship and Auteurism” area of the Midwest Popular Culture
Association/Midwest American Culture Association is now accepting proposals
for its upcoming conference. The MPCA/MACA conference will be held
Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 1-4. We are looking for papers that analyze any
aspect of auteur theory or authorship studies. Topics may explore any
popular medium or cultural production from any time period or country.

We are particularly interested in proposals that examine authorship and
auteurism:

-in the realm of new media

-after the “death of the author”
-as historical, geographical, and/or cultural practices
-in relation to issues of class and economics

-in relation to issues of race and ethnicity
-in relation to issues of gender and sexuality

Please submit a paper abstract (250 words) or panel proposal (including
titles) to the “Authorship and Auteurism” Area on the MPCA/ACA Submission
website (submissions.mpcaaca.org). You will need to register to the
website in order to submit a proposal. Please do not submit the same item
to more than one Area.

Deadline for receipt of proposals is April 30, 2015.

Include name, affiliation, address, and e-mail address of each
author/participant. You must specify any AV and any special scheduling
needs with your proposal. MPCA/ACA can provide an LCD projector for
presentations.
