Kino International has quite a good selection of Russian and other Eastern
European films (including Nostalghia).  There phone number is 212/629-6880 if
you want to request a catalogue.  While I have no particular expertise in this
area of film, I have seen a fair bit of Eastern European cinema and would be
interested in discussing it.  Have you seen the more recent books
GLASNOST:SOVIET CINEMA RESPONDS and THE ZERO HOUR: GLASNOST AND SOVIET CINEMA
IN TRANSITION?  There are a couple of interesting articles on Jansco in SIGHT
AND SOUND V.48 #1 (WINTER 1978-79) and FILM QUARTERLY XXVI, #1 (FALL 1972).
Not too recent, I know...
