25th Athens International Film& Video Festival
May 1-9, 1998 Entry Deadline: Febraury 9, 1998.
 
Festival Prodcedures
     Because of the number of entries received, not all entries can be
publicly screened during the Festival. A prescreening committee,
comprised of filmmakers, videomakers and other artistrs associated
with the Athens Center for Film and Video, will pre-screen each entry
to determine which works are selected for screening during the
Festival.
     Works will be eligible for cash prizes, to be awarded by visiting
Guest Artists/Jurors at the Festival. Each entrant will be informed
via U.S. Mail of the results of the Festival at theFestival's
conclusion. If we require an exhibition copy of your work, we will
contact you prior to the screening date.
 
Eligibility
    Entries must have been completed during or since 1996. Works that
have been submitted in preious Athens International Fil and video
Festivals are not eligible. All works that evidence a high regard for
artistic innovation, sensitivity to content, and personal involvement
with the medium will be welcomed.
    The Festival is now comprised of four separate competitions: Film,
Video, Multimedia, and Web Art. In acknowledging current trends,
debates, an technical possibilities in production of these forms, we
define "film" as a work whose primary intended viewing context is as
a projected celluloid image; "video"as a work whose primary intended
viewing context is as a video image on a monitor/TV, or as rpesented
via video projection. "Multimedia" is defined as a digital
interactive environment or presentation on CD-ROM, and "web art" is
defined as any piece of publicly-accessible digital art whose
primary intended viewing is through the Internet on a World Wide Web
browser. Web art may not be promotional or commercial in nature.
 
Entry Procedure.
Please fill out in full the entry form on the reverse, including a
brief descripton of the work. If you wish, send along photos and
publicity materials.
Please include a $25.00 entry fee (for film, video or CD-ROM entries)
or $ 5.00 entry fee (for web art), payable by check, money order, or
cash. Make check payable to Athens International Film Festival.
Provide with your entry pre-paid shipping, insurance for your film,
video, or CD-ROM, including self-addressed shipping package/envelope,
and pre-paid postage, stamps, waybill, etc., to cover shipping costs
for returen of entry.
