Levine accurately compares the behavior in theaters before this era
as being similar to behavior in current sports events.

One need only look at Carne's "Children of Paradise" or "Cyrano de Bergerac"
or even "Henry V" (Olivier) to see this principle in action. This, however,
is no defense for the practice.
