Murray's reminiscence about viewing 2001 during its initial run reminded
me that VARIETY reported that people were going up and down the aisles
selling roaches during that run -- maybe this innovation hadn't yet
reached Buffalo. For years subsequent I had the serious impression
that 2001 was really "the movie to turn-on by." I do know that for
several years subsequent students would tell me that they were turned on
to film by 2001.
