Subject: New Day

As a member of UFVA, I am writing to ask you to encourage your advanced
student film and videomakers to consider joining New Day Films coop. We are
particularly looking for films and filmmakers that deal with issues of race,
ethnicity, economics, people with disabilities and gay/lesbian themes.

New Day Films is the premier North American distribution coop for social issue
films and videos. I am a member of this network of independent producers, who
distribute their films to the educational market (colleges and universities,
secondary schools and libraries, etc). We are looking for energetic producers
who want to work to get their films to the audiences they deserve.

Our films look at cultural and gender identity, labor history, local and
global politics, psychology and anthropological issues. They are primarily
documentaries. While New Day includes experienced documentary makers with
multiple award-winning titles, it also offers excellent networking
opportunities for newer producers. We share essential business skills that are
not often taught at university.

Please respond if you have names to pass on (including your own) or would like
to receive more in-depth information by fax or mail.

THANKS.

Joan Mandell
Olive Branch Productions and New Day Films and UFVA member
