AJIJIC FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE CALL FOR ENTRIES:

The third annual Ajijic Festival Internacional de Cine is inviting filmmakers from around the world to submit their entries in the categories of animation, documentaries, independent and studio produced feature films, short subjects and screenplays by August 15.

This year the Festival is also having a special competition for film and video makers, students and others, to research, write, shoot, edit and submit a short film project on Lake Chapala, the largest lake in Mexico. We plan to use the winning film or video to help in efforts to preserve this important resource, a source of inspiration and sustenance for many people for many years.

The emphasis of Festival 2001, as it has been for the past two years, will be the celebration, discovery and recognition of talent from around the world. Last year, we were fortunate to have had 185 entries from 28 countries, and over 40 filmmakers came to Ajijic to participate in the various forums. At the Awards Ceremony we gave out 18 awards to filmmakers from 10 different countries.

For more information, contact James E. Lloyd at +52 (3) 766-3070 or at: [log in to unmask] More information on Festival 2001 including Entry Forms and requirements for submissions in English and Espaņol are available at the Festival Website: www.mexconnect.com/cineindex.html
