"I had heard that a movie based on the Dark Horse title "Alien vs.
Predator" was being thrown around town. Any truth in that? Anyone?
That I would have to see."

There was a script submitted by Peter Briggs that did indeed pit the two
alien races against each other. I read a summary of the Sept. 91 script in
a special preview issue of a new magazine called Cinescape that was available
with the Aug. 94 Hero Illustrated Magazine #14. The story seemed solid
enough that I don't know why it wasn't picked up. One of the most
interesting aspects was that at the beginning of the movie, the Predators are
populating planets with Alien eggs so that they'll breed off that planet's
population, spawning game for the Predators to hunt. The script also
featured another strong female lead who must team up with a Predator to
survive the Aliens' attack. Also noteworthy is that the script featured the
opportunity for new Aliens such as one that has the physical attributes of
the Predator.

Drew writes--
"in preadator II, when Danny Glover goes into the enemy ship (?) there is
a quick pan and you see the skull of an alien. so i quess that there is a
precident (sort of)"

the Cinescape article also notes the appearance of the Alien skull in the
ship. It was added as an in-joke but served as the basis for the idea that
the two had met.
