The University of Wollongong is seeking to make two appointments at
Lecturer (B) or Senior Lecturer (C) to continuing positions in the
Communication and Cultural Studies Program in the Arts Faculty.

Position 1: The applicant should have expertise in one or both of
Television and Cinema Studies. The ability to teach one or more of New
Media, Media Policy, Asia Pacific Media, Communication Theory and Critical
Cultural Studies, would be an advantage.

Position 2: The applicant should have expertise in Communication Theory and
Critical Cultural Studies. The ability to teach one or more of New Media,
Media Policy, Asia Pacific Media and Globalisation, would be an advantage.

The successful applicants will be required to contribute to the Program's
undergraduate teaching at all levels, to supervise research and honours
students, to contribute to the Faculty's areas of research strength, and to
work collaboratively within a flexible faculty structure which encourages
interdisciplinarity. Applicants must hold a Doctorate and have a demonstrated
ability in designing, co-ordinating and teaching subjects in a relevant
area. Familiarity with flexible delivery is desirable. Appointment at
Senior Lecturer level may be offered in one of the above but will require a
demonstrated high quality administrative leadership, teaching and research
record, including postgraduate supervision and the appointee will be
expected to take a leadership role in curriculum development, research,
administration and
strategic planning within the Program and in connection with the planned
new Degree in Communication and Media.

Annual salary: Senior Lecturer AUS$62,421 to $71,977; Lecturer AUS$50,957to
$60,511. Closing date 3 December 2001.
