If you're just starting out in film/TV studies and you'd like
a reading list and a structure for approaching it, you might
take a look at the film/TV syllabi available on SCREENsite,
the film/TV studies World Wide Web site:

http://www.sa.ua.edu/tcf/welcome.htm

You could use these syllabi to structure your own course of study
in film/TV.
