A full John Woo filmography with brief credits is available in the
supplemental section of the Criterion laser release of the film THE
KILLER. That disc also contain an essay on the history of the Hong Kong
film industry, trailer for a dozen Woo films and a commentary track
accompanying the film on an alternate audio channel. The disc is highly
informative.

The "Mickey Mouse" and DUmbo" exchange is merely an arbitrary choice of
nicknames chosen by the subtitler for the original American release of the
film and subsequently used for the Fox Lorber video issue. The laser disc
contain a new, supposedly more accurate translation for the subtitles.
According to the notes, the real names used in the original film were
insults that didn't have a literal cultural translation, but the
translater for the disc substituted Butt-Head and Numbnuts for the Disney
monickers used on the earlier versions, and supposedly these names are at
least consistent with the attitude of the original language.

The person responsible for the extras on the disc is David Chute and may
be of some help. Also, Tony Rayns (of the Vancouver Film Festival and
frequent contributor to Film Comment) appera to be quite the Hong Kong
historian.

I'd be very interested in seeing your finished product as I also am a Hong
Kong afficionado.
