RE: the reply from Denis (in response to my posting on Frankenstein a few
days ago), it certainly *is* possible that Victor could not respond at all
to his creation, as some of the madness you describe fits the bill for
nearly total self-absorption and for possible depression. As most folks
know, when you're depressed it's hard to respond, period. And once again, I
reiterate that the Branaugh film closely follows the book in this respect;
that is, Victor does not revel in his creature's abilities at all.
