If you are looking for early films, the Thanhouser Company (Vitagraph and
Edison competitor) made a half dozen films (dramas and comedies) with Eugenics
in the title, between 1909-1918. You can get complete original desciptions
and reviews from the trade journals of these films on Q. David Bowers' CD-ROM,
Thanhouser Films: An Encyclopedia and History. You can find it at Ned
Thanhouser's website _www.thanhouser.org_ (http://www.thanhouser.org)

Its an amazing resource for early American film.

Also check out Kevin Brownlow, Behind the Mask of Innocence: Sex, Violence,
Prejudice, Crome: Films of Social Conscience in the Silent Era (1990 Knopf)
