In the next two months we in the Boston/Cambridge area will be able
to see series of films from Iran, Korea, Hong Kong, France, England,
etc. Those are the sources off the top of my head - if I referred to
the various schedules I could give a much more complete listing.
Between the Brattle Theatre, the Harvard Film Archive, and the Museum
of Fine Arts we have access to a great diversity of films, and that
doesn't even take into account the French Library, the Goethe
Institute, the Friends of Italy, and the various programs at area
colleges and universities. And on any given week 2-3 international
films will be playing in the Sony Theatres. There are far too few
areas in North America where this range of movies is offered, but I am
thankful that neither we, nor Montreal, are unique.
