CFP: Revisiting Islamic Homosexualities (edited collection)

Abstracts of 400 words for articles of 4000-8000 words are now being invited for an edited collection of essays on Homosexuality in Islam and/or Muslim communities: both past and present.

Papers are invited from all disciplines relevant to the topic. The collection intends to reflect and assemble new scholarship in this field since the 1997 publication of Murray and Roscoe's seminal collecion Islamic Homosexualities.

Abstracts of 400 words are invited for submission by August 15, but earlier submissions are welcome. You will be informed of the decision regarding submitted absracts within 7 days of submission. You will also receive advice on referencing style at this point.

Final drafts are due by November 20, however, earlier submissions of final drafts are highly encouraged.

A prominent U.S. Academic publisher has shown great interest in the proposed collection and it is likely that we will see a publication date of this edition in 2009.

Please include a CV with your contact details when emailing the abstract. Please forward your submissions and queries to the collection editor Dr Samar Habib at [log in to unmask] .
