CALL FOR PAPERS

`Screening the Past' is an international electronic journal of visual
media and history.

We are planning a special issue for July 1998, on the Televisual, that
is, the ways in which certain aspects of the cinema and the culture
around or in the cinema can be seen to anticipate or to be predicated
upon ideas of instantaneous live transmission of visual information.
This could include:
- fictional and cinematic anticipations of visual live transmission;
- the representation of television or "television tropes" in the cinema
and on digital media.

Proposals or complete papers should be sent to the journal's email
address ([log in to unmask]). Deadline for complete papers in 1 April
1998.
