The appointee will be required to teach in the historical and critical studies component of the Screen Studies programme, to undertake research and to assist in administration. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas: new screen technologies; screenwriting; history and theory of television; postcolonial media. Essential criteria include an excellent Honours degree in Screen Studies or a related area, a higher degree for appointment to Lecturer B and/or an equivalent combination of professional experience/training, a commitment to research within the history and/or theory of screen media, and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
