. . .i've received a [junk] mail solicitation [from Films for Humanities & Sciences] for something called THE LANGUAGE OF FILM . . . a five part mini-series from the beeb that leads to "an understanding of the complex processes involved in the direction of a major drama . . ." it strikes me that, if well done, this could be a very useful tool in my intro to cinema course [and perhaps in other courses as well] but at four hundred and twenty five bucks [u.s.] for a total of three hours of programming, it's not cheap, and before i sit on my friendly campus librarian to order it i'd like to know if anyone has any experience of or with it . . . even if all you have is second hand information, i'd be grateful for hearing about it thanks much mike frank ---- To sign off SCREEN-L, e-mail [log in to unmask] and put SIGNOFF SCREEN-L in the message.
