I have a question about the relationship between popular culture and
public opinion. There are several studies which show that most people
get their information about current events from the news media.
However, many of the film and television theory books claim that public
attitudes about these current events are shaped to a large degree by
representation in popular cultural forms such as fictional television
and movies. Can anyone recommend concrete studies which indicate this?
