Faculty position in Ithaca College; Positions: Two tenure-eligible film production teaching positions to begin August 15, 1997. Qualifications: Graduate degree in film or related discipline is required. M.F.A. or Ph. D. is preferred, however, consideration will be given to candidates with an MA degree who have significant and appropriate professional and/or academic experience. Significant film production work, and successful teaching experience are required. The Department is particularly seeking candidates who can help it move into the realm of digital production and postproduction at the same time as we maintain a foundation in traditional filmmaking techniques. A commitment to a liberal arts education within a professional program is expected. Rank/Salary: Assistant/Associate Professor. Salary open, depending upon experience and qualifications. Areas of Teaching Responsibility: Primary assignments will be in begginning and intermediate film production courses which cover the techniques of 16mm synchronous sound film production and traditional double system film postproduction. It is required that the candidates demonstrate qualifications to teach at all sikll levels. Other Responsibilities: The candidates appointed to these positions will also act as academic advisors to students and serve on department, school and college committess.
