Actually, it's 36 feet...hence the x2.5 formula for 35MM footage.
Also sound projection is 24 frames per second, here in the States, because we
have 60 cycle electricity. In the UK and other countries, where they have 50
cycle current, sound projection is at 25 frames a second.
