Gene Stavis comments: "I would be extremely dubious about "Accuspeed". In general, they have simply run silent films at the arbitrary so-called "silent speed" of 16 or 18fps. This in no way correlates with the original speed of the filmmaking as speeds ran anywhere from 16 to 24fps in the silent era, often varying within a given film. My experience with "Video Yesteryear" videos is that they run painfully slowly -- further distancing the silent film from the modern viewer." I have to second the comments about Video Yesteryear. Though I haven't seen their release of OCTOBER, their version of Buster Keaton's last independent film, COLLEGE, is laughable. The speed has been so overcompensated that when Buster jumps over a hedge, he looks as though he's floating through air. It's a nice tool to teach students about shooting and projection rates, but I can't sit through the thing!
