Not specifically about female epileptics, but about human epilepsy in general, it would be important in my opinion to discuss Paul Sharits' film "Epileptic Seizure Comparison", in which we see and hear a patient experiencing a seizure, and this seizure is then translated into scales of colors and musical pitches. The flicker sensation attempts to induce an experience of similar brainwave patterns while watching the film. Sharits often had problems with viewers of his flicker films having epileptic seizures in the screening room. He and Tony Conrad ("The Flicker", "Straight and Narrow") had to post warnings whenever the films were shown.
