----------------------------Original message---------------------------- I'm puzzled. According to the information cited about the colorization of FEDERAL HILL, it sounds like theatrical prints of the film are being colorized, yet I thought that colorization as such only applied to *video* copies of the original film. One of Turner's arguments for colorization was that in striking new quality b&W prints for the films he colorized, he was actually engaging in film preservation. Does this mean that FEDERAL HILL is being re-processed back on to film stock from video? That would suggest a loss of image quality as bad or worse than anything that colorization itself might do. Or is there new technology I'm unware of? --Don Larsson, Mankato State U., MN
