Randy Riddle suggests that "A trip to Mount Airy NC should be on the top of everyone's list of surreal vacations." Those who can't make it to North Carolina can try the upper New York state town of Chittenango, birthplace of L. Frank Baum, author of the WIZARD OF OZ books and other things. You can eat in "Auntie Em's Cafe," purchase Wizard of Oz and Judy Garland postcards and souvenirs in just about every store in the three block downtown, or if you are lucky, participate in an Oz-themed street fair. The bizarre part of the story is that Baum lived there only a few years as a child. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Cal Pryluck, Radio-Television-Film, Temple University, Philadelphia <[log in to unmask]> <[log in to unmask]>
