I THINK there is only one lab in the U.S. that still processes and prints B&W camera original. Many labs do some B&W work but its mainly for optical tracks, textless backgrounds, titles and such. A completly different stock and process. I happened by the sound studio where they were finishing up Schindler and several wags commented that it was a big problem. In fact, the wider release was help up because they couldn't produce enough of the B&W release prints. Of course, their press folks said it was their intention to delay delivery. Hey, they get paid the big $ to say that stuff. Incindently, "Schindler" was posted the old-fashioned way, cutting on Mag film, analog and so forth. ____________________________________________________________________________ -------->from John G.
