As far as contemporary French Cinema goes, I would want to use _Man Bites Dog_ (1993), possibly the darkest black comedy I have ever seen. A serial killer hires a film crew do document his brutal acts of carnage. For the viewer, the film raises serious concerns about the relation between the filmmaker and the event being documented.
