Chanan also has a monograph on Santiago Alvarez (BFI, 1980s?) and a nice sectionon documentaries in *The Cuban Image*. Finally, I offer you my own short piece "REvolution and Dreams: The Cuban Documentary Today," *Studies in LAtin American Popular Culture,* vol 11 (1992), pp. 45-58. Hope this is helful.
