I've just joined the server so this info may be have been covered already butone item which immediately comes to mind is Peter Sellers as the escaped convict/film director in Vittorio De Sica's self-reflexive comedy AFTER THE FOX (CACCIA ALLA VOLPE) -- a great campy film on filmmaking. Quite a few comedies depict/trash the making of exploitation movies within their own narrative frame (HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD; STRANGE BREW; ZADAR, COW FROM HELL), but the most incisive foray into the exploitation genre might be the documentary DEMON LOVER DIARY. Also, what about the high number of porn films which ostensibly have plots about the making of hardcore? Otherwise, the more mainstream versions on this theme would be BODY DOUBLE; (PEEPING TOM, well kind of); THE PORNOGRAPHERS; HI, MOM!; THE SEVEN MINUTES; INSERTS; HARDCORE.
