You missed DeKalb. It's the Egyptian and was saved from the wrecking gang
by a community not-for-profit group and redone to its previous splendor. Has
a full size stage so is used now for not only movies, but plays, traveling
musicals, weddings, etc. Interesting note that when they were getting ready
to re-do the cartoons on the walls which had been badly water damaged by a
leaky roof, they contacted the Chicago Art Institute for help in finding out
what the proper frescos were of the period and in researching it, the Art
Institute found they had the original cartoons there. So the newly
referbished theater is authentic down to its frescos. It's a jewel for any
size town and a real treasure for a community as small as DeKalb.
