Dear Screen-L subscribers,

Today, May 3, is a big day for fundraising in Seattle and it is a great day
to show your support for the Scarecrow Project, the non-profit that runs
the amazing Scarecrow Video collection. Uniting people and creating
communities around film is what gave Scarecrow Video life in 1988. Today
as a nonprofit, they are building upon this legacy of community engagement,
while continuing our commitment to maintaining, curating and expanding the
library.

Today Scarecrow Video is joining in the Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG
fundraising campaign. GiveBIG is a one-day, online charitable giving event
designed to raise money for Puget Sounds’ hard-working nonprofits. Over the
past five years, the GiveBIG campaigns have invested more than $56 million
in the greater Seattle community.

This will be Scarecrow’s first year to take part, and we need *your help*
to make our campaign a success.

Here are the best ways you can help:

1. Donate! <https://givebig.seattlefoundation.org/npo/scarecrow-video>
Contributions can be made anytime from today, up to midnight on Tuesday,
May 3, 2016.

2. Help us spread the word! Follow us on Facebook

Follow the hashtags #GiveBIG and #iGiveLocal to see the nationwide buzz.

Your dollars go even further on GiveBIG day as all donations receive a
portion of stretch dollars from Seattle Foundation.

*Please support Scarecrow Video on May 3rd and help to ensure this unique
piece of our film and cultural history remains available to movie lovers
from all walks of life now and in the future. *

Sincerely,

Dan Herbert and the entire Scarecrow Project team
