According to Vincent Canby's intro to the NYT Film Reviews set, reporters "wrote in anonymity" until Oct. 6, 1924 when Mordaunt Hall received the first byline. If you haven't seen it, his intro (in the vol. that begins in 1913) has other interesting things to say about attribution...
