The Department of Communication at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Film Studies, to teach undergraduate courses in film history, theory and criticism. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment beginning August 2001. The teaching load is three courses per semester, and includes teaching a multi-section introductory film appreciation course and supervising the course's graduate teaching assistants. Ph.D. and an active publishing record preferred. ABD with significant progress toward completion and potential for active publishing will be considered; position rank for ABD is limited to Visiting Instructor. Application deadline: April 30.
