>1) Does anybody know what James Cameron was doing (films, projects) before >exploding onto the cinema scene with "The Terminator"? He directed "Piranha II" which shows no trace of any talent or even intelligence (much unlike the original), a job he got in the time-honored fashion of doing grunt work on other Corman projects. And "The Terminator" didn't quite explode; at the time it initially seemed like a dim-witted B-movie and getting people to go see it was almost exactly like today trying to convince somebody that the new Jean-Claude Van Damme movie is great. Word of mouth eventually got it going. But after just watching his "Dark Angel" I'm not sure whether he's reverting to "Piranha II" days. ------------------------------------------- Adventures In Sound http://wlt4.home.mindspring.com/adventures.htm Outsider Music Mailing List http://wlt4.home.mindspring.com/outsider.htm Documentary Sound http://wlt4.home.mindspring.com/adventures/documentary.htm Full Alert Film Review http://wlt4.home.mindspring.com/fafr.htm ---- Screen-L is sponsored by the Telecommunication & Film Dept., the University of Alabama: http://www.tcf.ua.edu
