Thanks to all who entered the 1999 Festival! The second Ajijic Festival Internacional de Cine will be held November 8-12, 2000. Film and video entries are due by July 15, 2000. James E. Lloyd, President of the Festival's Board of Directors, hopes to double our first year's submissions to at least 200 entries. The emphasis of this festival, as it was with our inaugural effort last year, will be the celebration, discovery and recognition of talent from around the world. In addition, we will expand opportunities for filmmakers to meet with distributors and studio production executives from North America, Europe, Asia and South America. Festival 1999 award winners included Morita Noriko of Tokyo Japan for Animation; Nurit Kedar, from Israel for Documentary; Cindy Paul and Lonny Riddle from Chapala Jalisco Mexico for Screenplay; Ryan Webb and Kris Moran from Boston Massachusetts for Short Subject; Nora Jacobson from Norwich Vermont for Independent Feature Film; and David Mamet for The Winslow Boy, best studio feature.
