Call for papers

The editors of Screening the past invite proposals for papers (c. 5000
words) on the work of Robert Aldrich and related subjects. Proposals should
be no more than five hundred words in length and be received by December 15,
1999.

Completed articles must be in the hands of the editor
<[log in to unmask]> by February 1, 2000, and must conform to the style
guide on the Screening the Past website
(http://www.latrobe.edu.au/www/screeningthepast/style.html).

Areas of particular interest are:

* Aldrich and genre
* The late (problem?) films
* Social issue: class, race, gender, etc.
* Image, sound, stylistics: Aldrichıs cinema and changes in film form and
structure
* ...and Associates: Aldrichıs influence on other filmmakers
* Aldrich 2000: Aldrichıs work in the context of current film thought
  - Europe: 1. Studies of Aldrichıs European productions
  - Europe: 2. European (or for that matter, Asian) responses to Aldrichıs
work.
* Translations of material not hitherto available in English would also be
  most welcome.
* The Aldrich studio: RAıs sojourn as studio owner and production head.
